about
Concepts behind 'The Four Questions' by Zohar's Nigun (interview with Daniel Weltlinger, September 2012):
This is my composition. I guess I am the guy with the craziest of family backgrounds of the four of us - French-Austro-Hungarian-Israeli - and I grew up hearing five languages spoken between my parents although I was never taught most of these languages. The song title translates as 'Much Love' and the composition is based on the ancient Ahava Raba scale commonly found in European Jewish music. It is a waltz, and is a delicate, fragile piece based on my own traditional leanings and the melodies sung in the synagogues that I have grown up with all my life. It is also a subtle tribute to my late father, and the feelings he deeply imbued in me of tolerance towards others and openness of heart..
